Michele van maurik wild daisies painting

Michele Van Maurik is an award winning and internationally recognized artist from Oakville, Ontario.  Bold, luminous, larger than life floral paintings are her signature style.   She is well known as "The painter of petals"  and has been the recipient of many  prestigious awards, including both a silver and vermeil medal for excellence in painting by the Arts, Sciences and Lettres academy of Paris.  She has exhibited four consecutive years from 2013-2016 as part of the Canadian Delegation at the Society National des Beaux Arts at the Louvre in Paris.  Michele's work has been featured in American Art Collector, Arabella magazine as and Artist to collect, as well as International Artist Magazine where she won first place for her painting, "Ballet of Petals" in their floral art competition.  Attention to detail, mastery of colour and striving for excellence are her driving forces behind her painting.  In addition to florals, she  also enjoys painting classical still life's as well as landscapes, portraits and plein air.  Recently her painting, "The Sentinels" was awarded 1st place for works on canvas in the McMichael Art Gallery's Plein air competition held on the grounds in Kleinburg, Ontario.   "Purple Rhapsody" and "Sundance" were juried into the Artistes du Monde held in Cannes in 2014 where she  was presented to Marina Picasso.  Michele's collectors include Frank Stronach,  Geri Hall and Terence Young.  Her  work can be found in private collections throughout Canada, California, Amsterdam, Greece, Florida and Italy.
